Our Journey

Resurrection Episcopal Church is one of the newest faith groups in Gilbert. We started as a small assembly of people who had a vision of establishing a new Episcopal church community in Gilbert to reach people with the good news of God’s promise of love and acceptance. We began meeting in October 2014. After gathering for several months in coffee shops and homes, to discern our mission, to pray, to study the Bible, and hold monthly worship services and fellowship dinners, we began weekly Sunday morning Eucharist services, fellowship time, and spiritual formation classes in April 2015. We currently congregate at the Gilbert Community Center on Sunday mornings. We have acquired a parcel of land at the southwest corner of Higley and Elliot Roads in Gilbert that is the location of our future church home.

The energy and focus of Resurrection Episcopal Church is missional. We are striving to be a church that takes seriously The Great Commandment of Jesus to love God and our neighbors, and to live out The Great Commission to reach people everywhere with the Good News of God’s love and favor. We provide a safe, non-judgmental place to question and explore your faith. We engage in our local community by conducting worship services in public places, we help our neighbors in need in partnership with other area Christian organizations, and we regularly participate in Gilbert civic events and festivals.

We invite all our congregants to become actively engaged in serving others for Christ and building-up the kingdom of God in Gilbert.
